Where is the entrance & where can I park?

The entrance and parking lot is behind the building off of 14th Ave East. There is additional street parking available along both 14th and Superior Street.

How is the store organized?

There is a section for every subject and a map to peruse when you enter. We are more than happy to walk you around for a tour of the shop. In addition to the main floor, there are three more rooms of books in the basement!

Where is the basement & how do I get upstairs?

Follow the purple brick road to the stairwells going both up and down. They are located by the front doors of the church, while the main entrance is technically the back door of the building.

Do you take returns?

We do not take returns, but if Tina is available she may offer you in-store credit or cash for books you have purchased in the store.

Do you take donations?

Yes we do! Donations are welcome anytime we are open. Simply drop them off just inside our entrance. We do not accept ex-library editions, textbooks, or books with water damage or mold.

Do you buy books?

We buy books that are in excellent condition that sell well in our store. As with donations, we do not buy ex-library books, textbooks, or books that have any damage. Collectible editions with some wear may be of interest.

How does selling books work?

Tina, the owner, is the only person in the shop who buys books. We offer cash for good books, as well as in-store credit. Please call the shop to make sure Tina is in before you bring books for cash or credit.

Do you buy antiques?

We do buy some antiques. Again, Tina is the only buyer in the store, so please call ahead to make sure she is available.

Do you do house calls?

If you have an exceptionally large collection of books or a houseful of antiques, give Tina a call to make house visit arrangements.

Do you sell online?

We have a limited inventory of more collectible editions listed on Abebooks.com. You can search us as a seller to review our inventory.

What payments do you take?

We take cash, card, and ApplePay.

Can I get a gift card?

Yes, we have gift cards available.

Do you ship books?

Yes!

How are the books priced?

Each book is individually priced in pencil on the first white page.

Was this an old church?

Our building was a Seventh Day Adventist Church before the original bookstore owner bought it in 2005. It has been a bookstore ever since.

Is The Rainbow Room a separate store?

The Rainbow Room, owned by Isabella Taylor, is a part of the bookstore and is located upstairs. All sales throughout the store are processed at the main checkout counter.

Do you buy vintage clothing?

Isabella Taylor manages the Rainbow Room. Please contact them directly at rainbowroomdispatch@gmail.com.

Do you have a digital inventory?

As a used bookstore with a vast stock, it would be virtually impossible to catalogue the inventory, unlike new bookstores that are fully digitized. Our store is organized by subject and we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Can I pet your dog?

On Mondays, Lee brings her friend Jolene to the shop and little JoJo is crazy about humans. She loves love! On the other hand, if Tina’s BFF, Clover, is behind the desk, it’s best to look and not touch. She was born shy and had a bad experience with a stranger grabbing her, so now she is afraid of the “hand out for a sniff” thing that humans do. She can be bribed though. Regular customers with regular treats have earned their way into Club Clover.
