Located at Chester Creek Bookstore in Duluth, Minnesota, The Rainbow Room is dedicated to vintage clothing, accessories, and recycled fashion, with a focus on size inclusivity and affordability through its wide range of prices and sizes. The shop also carries a variety of jewelry and a small selection of home goods. The Rainbow Room is proud to celebrate self-expression through the wide array of styles offered and the gender affirming atmosphere provided.
In addition, The Rainbow Room champions sustainable clothing practices and environmentally friendly values. Isabella curates the space and selection of items with care, striving to exhibit both an upscale and welcoming environment that provides customers with a fun and fabulous shopping experience!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept returns?
The Rainbow Room does not accept returns; all sales are final. We offer dressing rooms and measurements on each item tag to ensure that you go home with items that fit, and do our best to note all item flaws. Almost all of our selection is vintage or recycled and all items are sold as is with care taken to price each piece accordingly!
Can you hold items?
The Rainbow Room does not hold items. We cannot make exceptions to this rule.
Where do I pay?
All sales are managed at the checkout counter on the main floor. We accept cash, card, and Apple Pay.
Is there a dressing room?
Yes! The dressing room is located in The Rainbow Room space upstairs.
How'd The Rainbow Room get started?
The Rainbow Room began at Adeline Inc. hair salon in 2023 and moved to a storefront location in Downtown Duluth in April of 2024 under Isabella Taylor's ownership and management. Its downtown location closed in March of 2025 as The Rainbow Room moved to Chester Creek Bookstore and reopened in May of 2025 in the shared space, where the shop is currently located.
How does sizing and organization work?
All items have measurements on the tag. Bottoms are categorized by waist measurement. Tops and dresses are grouped into traditionally femme size categories such as small/medium/etc that correlate with chest measurements.
XS items have a 32-34” chest measurement Small 36” chest, Medium 38” chest, Large 40-42” chest, XL 44” chest, XXL 46-48” chest, and 3XL 50+” chest.
Everything at The Rainbow Room is for everybody, and both traditionally masc and traditionally femme items can be found mixed together within each size grouping!
Do you consign or buy clothing?
The Rainbow Room does not consign. However, please contact Isabella with any inquiries about selling wholesale collections or items in bulk! We are generally looking for vintage and y2k clothing in good condition.
If you have a collection of at least 20 pieces, we ask that you set up an appointment to stop by the shop with your goods, where Isabella will meet you to discuss a bulk price.
